Mr. Know How That's it, mister, combining a patent infringement case with your other felonious parlor tricks will get you out of the Safeway produce lockup and into the big time, San Quenton, or possibly we'll just send you south to the Tijuana jail, because those earphones are made in Mexico. And they don't fool around cuz there ain't no bail, in the Tijuana Jail. In that facility, since you are such a smart alec cameraman, you will be farmed out to produce the most disgusting movies ever made, which I will not go into detail about. Serves you right, undermining a respected company like Bose, who also make all their products is Mexico, but ship the profits home. American capitalism at its best. What will the next video be, homemade Bongs, Hash pipes from toilet paper rolls, advise on hydroponics and building clandistine reefer growing operations with solar panel lighting? You are a menace to all that is good in this country, the bottom line. Maybe you can show us a homemade way of tapping the gas pipelines, like the Mexicans have figured out. Just drill a hole, put a spigot in there and voila, no more gas worries. If we could get our gas for free than there is no more reason to hang around the middle east, it would stop the war, Texas oil wildcatter Bush would be forced to get our guys out of there. We need a president with some vision, a guy like General corncob pipe MacArthur, maybe he will return from the dead and be our Messiah of petroleum and save this great nation. If Truman hadn't yanked his chain in Korea, we could have Iraq and Korea as colonial satellite fillerup stations and get our gas for 50 cents a gal. Of course, there was a slim chance he would have started WW3 by nuking the No Koreans and ol Mao probably would have hooked up with Stalin and vaporized us. Either way the problem would have been solved. and subversive radicals like yourself would have no free rein. Your busted and as soon as I can find you,you will be on the Dog and Pony show circuit. I have to admit, I did the same thing 10 years ago, when I was working in a factory with machines that made a lot of noise... So this is not a new idea;-)

I was only able to get the first 44 seconds and then it stopped. I have a good broadband connection and sound was garbled and picture distorted. Very poor quality video. I never got to see anything past buying a set of headphones at the hardware store.
said sunshinesbt
I don;t think it is better than an old ine.
said backformore
so much crazy!!!!!!!!!!! Why don't you buy a good one I don't think it is possible
said backformore
The sound quality of this video was very bad indeed - so bad I could not understand what he was trying to say - just as well the visual information was clear and did not any sound at all - picture quality was though. I will be making a set of my own - many thanks for the clip tip !.
said ianhod
That is just great, I wish I would have thought of something like this.
said rumlys
Hey, it ran the second time around. Seems like a good idea, but he doesn't say where you can get those headphones, if you don't fly the airlines.

THAT'S GREAT.

Anyone who complained about the quality of the video, sorry but that is your computer, not the video. As far as his idea, it works for what it is meant for. I did it, and it works. I can now do my at home video class, for my college course while my 3-year old grandson is up running around and his mother is yelling at him to "stay quite so grandma can study." and barely hear them, very good Tim, Thank You.

Salakça bir şey hiç gerek yok!
said ilhanaslan
Great idea! I've been using it for the past three years. Did I "invent" it? Probably not, since many times invention is often simultaneous. I have the same hearing protectors. I work in a very noisy environment and I also use them at hhome when using power tools or my snowblower. I'd love to share my leaf shredder made from an electric lawnmower but I just can't handle the liability... Pete

said DavidTMitchell1002
I drive 'classic' army trucks for a hobby and as anyone who does this knows, you must have ear protection while driving (and they don't come with radios). I've been doing something similar for years, and have a few comments for the nay-sayers here: *No, they aren't perfect noise cancellers, but they do allow you to hear something besides your thoughts and the rumble of the road. *The quality of the noise reduction depends on the grade of the ear-protectors you manage to 'liberate' or buy. *They are cheap, so if somebody comes along and 'liberates' them from you, you're not out the large $$ that a good set would cost you. *and last but not least, now finally maybe people will see your video and think I got the idea from you and quit looking at me like I'm nuts! LOL Thanks guys,

I'm not sure where you guys get these ideas but I wear a BOSE noise cancelling head set for my job and there is a little more involved in the process than shown here, but it was funny.
said philiprispin
Not being on Broad Band I didn't realy get it. Just a few still photo clips that were very fuzzl and out of focus. Just the same, this is a good site and I'll watch it regularly. wardk31

It Does not work With dial up connections, you should make it downloadable.
said bob69131
All you people complaining about the audio being distorted, well did you ever stop to think it might just be that super-slow antiquated dial-up connection you're still hanging onto? Jeez spend some money and step into the 21st century.
said michaja76
audio NOT decipherable! jerky, spotty, not fun to hear. if this is typical, I ain't interested!
said montyk6
Effective maybe, but looks retarded. Everyone around you will think you work at the airport especially with that bright orange vest. All you need now is those orange-wand flashlights...ha ha ha. Use earbud earphones...they are much more effective and way more comfortable (at least for me).
said dpark76
Good info, but unfortunately, the "voice-over" was very unclear!....very crackly!
said lebaber16
Very simple, very cool. Why does the commercial product cost so much?

seems great would work i bet to have for myself while teh tv is on in the other room i can do stuff on my computer and not have to try and block out teh tv blaring, plus my son would benifit cause he loves to play games on the computer but is always being told to turn it down which is hard causse if he turns it down so we can't hear neither can he, so i will definately being trying this we have several spair headsets that the tops got broke and can't be used but if i try this they sure can

Video only plays for 42 seconds and then cuts off. I have no idea how to make the headphones.
said bilshel
Just made on ear into over ear headphones. Not really true noise canceling if you ask me.
said davidorr
Now I need to fly some where to get some headphones LOL Great idea though!!!
said palaimo
hey that is a brilliant idea those noise isloating headphones
said dotcom50
m4a1auto, Having used both, I have to defend Tim on this. While it's true that noise cancelling headphones emit an inverse sound wave, they only work for steady frequencies. Great for airplanes, poor for blocking out everyday life. If you're a pilot, and need to hear normal chatter, you need noise cancelling headphones. For the rest of us, they're not really worth it.
said InstructablesJeff
If you want more details, check out the Instructable! Look here: http://www.instructables.com/id/E8UBD2SNKXEP2864W9/ or here Jackhammer headphones
said InstructablesJeff
making noise canceling headphones would be much more complicated than this video shows, involving soldering circuits taking the inputs from microphones and inverting the sound waves and then mixing those signals with the music signals coming in over the headphone cable. i have never done it and honestly don't know anyone who has (correct me if im wrong). not exactly a newbie DIY, you would be better off going to the store and picking up a $50 pair of sony noise canceling headphones.
said m4a1auto
Not bad how did you do it and how can I do It ?
said tshirtman59
there is a difference between noise isolating headphones (the ones made in this video) and noise canceling headphones. While these headphones may be good for some people, they are not doing the same thing as a pair of bose headphones. Also when u stuff a crappy pair of headphones in ear protection.... you still get crappy sound from your crappy headphones.
said m4a1auto
You could also hold the inserts in place with a dab of bathroom caulk or silicone sealant and cut the wires into the spoonge and outer case. Edgar
said macuiticain
Great and easy! How come I didn't think of that? LOL
said ecastanedam
Better still if you take off the soft-rings and put the wires under them.
