Album Info:

I have decided that my basement bathroom, which is laid out exactly the same as the upstairs bathroom, is going to no longer be a bathroom. The galley style lends itself more to being a laundry room. It's not all that big, maybe a 10'x7' or so. The ceiling will be hard to finish because of all sorts of exposed pipes that hang at different heights from the ceiling. I'm going to try to hide some in cabinetry, try to get the laundry shoot to aim into the top of a wall cabinet, and hide a water softener in the back corner. Maybe I'll finish the ceiling with drywall or staple up ceiling tiles. I'm planning to find a good deal on quartz or engineered stone. I believe this is probably Caesarstone in the Chickory color, but my discount granite place (www.factoryplaza.com) has some engineered stone options in similar color: champagne pearl, sandcastle, and vanilla something or other. Level 2 prices mean it's probably $35-40/sqft installed (I would have about 26 sqft). If I can do it myself, it should be $25-30/sqft. The other option would be to look into some Formica. Formica really has neat options these days in terms of laminates. The cabinets are a recessed square panel type, and it doesn't look like there's a glaze. I see Home Depot's "cheap" Hampton Bay brand offers a whitish cabinet in similar style. I found some better looking cabinets in other brands, but I assume Hampton Bay is the cheapest of them all at $172/linear ft. Maybe I can find a better deal for RTA cabinets online. The floor tile looks like a carrara marble. Instead of marble, I may think about ceramic tile with a marble print.
