Now, I'll be honest, when I first heard Tony Hand had signed as coach for the Phoenix I was even more gutted than when I found out that Rhino/Rad Sheep would be making the jerseys. My feelings have somewhat cooled. I was very impressed (and suprised) with his coaching in first season taking us to the Semi-Finals of both the Challenge Cup and Knockout Cup and just minutes away from the Play-Off finals all whilst without a home rink to play until the last six weeks of the season. One place you could certainly never question him was when he was playing. The chance to watch him skate wearing a Phoenix jersey is certainly not something I will ever tire of. Tony Hand is the best British born player ever, simple as. In his furst season with Phoenix, Tony Hand finished with 18+58 in 57 games, with 80 minutes in penalties.
