Album Info:

Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeast at over 6200 feet. It is also home to the worst weather conditions and extremes in the world. The highest sustained wind ever recorded was on top of this mountain at 231 MPH... Every year unprepared hikers perish on its slopes. I have personally climbed it 3 times, including the other mountains in this range known as "The Presidential Range" and is home to Mt. Jefferson, Monroe, Madison, and Eisenhower....

    • Being as that I am the epitome of an unprepared hiker, this is a slope I will steer clear of -- and just enjoy it's incredible beauty through your lens. Kathy

    • Mike, this is beautiful, is this the mountain range that "Old man of the Mountain" was before he shattered and fell?

    • Shew.....It's a cool, no pun intended, place, but I'd think twice before climbing it now! What are the things at the peak?

    • Wow on so many levels! You've hiked this monster? Yikes! I'd end up having to be rescued or worse as I'm asthmatic! I did hike the Grand Canyon as a kid once though! That was fun but I was much more resilient back in those days! ;) I can see why so many are drawn to this most beautiful place....Robbi
