Album Info:

This project reflects a love of family both in machine and subject matter. Rose made this quilt with her grandmother's 1935 Singer 15-91. Her grandmother gave the machine to her mother upon her marriage in 1940 and Rose learned to sew on the machine as a child. The 66 x 60 inch quilt was made from scraps of red, white, and blue in a cobblestone pattern. This quilt is a thank you gift for a cousin who helps Rose with genealogy. Each block has a star in remembrance of all the babies that our ancestors had who died in infancy. A very touching memorial.
