Album Info:

Several years ago, Norma visited fellow Onion Ruth from Sheep Dip Cottage in Dundas, Ontario who gave her some beautiful squares of fabric all with a sewing/quilting theme. Having enjoyed so much the process of using up her stash with the Canadian Mosaic quilt, Norma decided to do the same with this quilt and had a wonderful time. To Live Is To Quilt is based upon the theme of the fabrics, but the quilt is dedicated to Norma's Grandmother MacRae who was an extraordinary quilter; it was also appropiately dedicated to her because she completed this project on 5 October 2010, the day that would have been her son's, Norma's father, 100th birthday. This endeavor was a wonderful melding of supportive treadling friends, fabric, and family. It is being used on Norma's bed as she sent in this entry. The quilt itself is an over-sized Queen pieced on her 1934 Singer 15-88 treadle and machine quilted in her circa 1960 Singer 401 electric. Norma wishes to add a Happy New Year to Captain Wightman and all of Treadle On!
