1941 harvesting hazelnuts
marionw104102 > albums > Playing with Raindrops and Morning...
Album Info:
We were competing with squirrels and blue jays and decided to harvest the nuts. We got more than twelve pounds in their green coats. After husking them we dropped them in a bowl of water. The ones floating, were empty. The good ones fell to the bottom of the bowl. About one third of the crop are blanks.
