Album Info:

This 80"x96" quilt was made by Cheryl for her son Eli who had requested a black and white quilt only. She worked on him to relent and he did allowing her to add gray fabrics. She says it was fun searching for "guy" theme fabrics for this quilt: nails, washers, guitars, and wood grains. The pattern is a scrappy variation of Ocean Waves blocks in which she switched around the light, medium, and dark fabrics for even more variety. She began piecing the cquilt a few years back using her 20-year-old computerized Bernina 1230 while on a quilt retreat. she finished the blocks this Fall sewing them with her electric 1922 Singer 128 portable. The finished top was then quilted on her larger 1950's Baer & Rempel Phoenix 249 treadle. It was finished just in time for his Christmas present this year. A very happy young man he must be with this eye dazzling quilt!
