Album Info:

I worked up my courage this evening to do the set-in seams that connect the four sections of the Nightwatch block. I had to work even harder to force myself to post the result. But I decided that maybe it was appropriate to have a distorted block to represent Rizpah's nighmarish experience. I chose a color scheme that would look like dark, dreary, scary nights. The mottled purplish blue fabric had shapes that suggested the scary things we imagine inhabiting the darkness. The burnt oranges represent Rizpah's courage and tenacity (in protecting the bodies of her dead loved ones) shining like a beacon in the dark. What an amazing woman she was.
