An Unusual Wildberry - Cloudberry

Album Info:
Let me share this anecdote: While taking sunset pictures near Lake Danum, I noticed small wrinkled vine leaves (looked like leaves of the grape vines, but much smaller) on the ground I was sitting on. The plant was thriving quite nicely along with carabao grass growing on this hill. Then I noticed this yellow fruit attached to the vine. I took some photos of it & then showed the fruit to my daughter & our new friends we met on tour. We were all clueless to its name, so we called Jhay, our local tour guide, hoping he'd identify the fruit or tell us if it was edible. To my surprise, he did not know. But then out of the blue, he gobbled up the fruit & it was gone! Luckily, I have this shot as a memento of this discovery. And yes, Jhay's still alive! Now, how was I able to ID the fruit? Two years ago, I saw a similar fruit in Les' album (glacierman54). I went back to check it out, & it was a salmonberry. Wiki told me it's a shrub, not a vine. But another google result identified the vine plant as cloudberry which is often confused for salmonberry (or vice versa).
