Whitling's First Hypothesis: The ongoing pressure of time in empty space, or some singulr fluke in time, resulted in formation of the first string. Later similar events caused that first string to replicate and resulted in matter. If this hypothesis is true, strings should still be forming all around space, and we will eventually discover them.
