Mount rock in Durham putty... let dry... break apart if you can... reglue using Gorilla glue. Gorilla glue reacts with water so dampen both pieces before gluing to make it set. It also foams as you can see in the photo. The glue makes a very strong bond that the putty won't do alone, but the putty creates a connecting "form" between the rock and the block.
