Album Info:
Richard is pictured first at the left in the photo. The event pictured is a SCA Pennsic War gathering last August. Richard sewed all of these fantstic costumes on his 1921 Singer 15-30 treadle. The costumes are Ottoman Turkish in design and everything save the white print Egyptian tunic was made by Richard. The coats are linen or cotton, fully lined in cotton with silk facings. All trousers are linen or cotton with silk sashes with cotton tassels. Shirts and hats are cotton. The hats have a hair canvas interfacing, are piped in self-fabric, and lined in cotton. The men's coats and shirts and all trousers, sashes and hats, are Richards designs and patterns. The women's red and gold coat and undershirt are based upon Folkwear's Turkish Dancer pattern. This photo shows Richard and his friends at home and on their way to a dinner party after a debut folkloric dance performance by a local troupe in which Richard is a member. Wow!
