Your roses and cakes are absolutely breathtaking. Where did you learn to do this? Please share the sizes of the rose cutters you are using. I always have a difficult time in selecting the right ratio of cutter to rose base, ie, 1" base - what range of cutters? Thanks, Sandra

Self taught? That's amazing. Your flowers are every bit as good as Ron Ben Israel. As a matter of fact, I would have bet you took classes from him. I see your tutorial and plan to use it to see if I can produce anything close to what you do. I do notice, however, that the large yellow rose doesn't seem to use the same technique. It looks like the petals are just swirled around the flower nesting inside of each other. Is this a different technique? As a matter of fact, this is the flower that reminds me of Ben Israel's work I've seen online. Is this your profession, or do you do it as a hobby?

Sylvia does great work, but those glasses have got to go!!! Ha! Ha! Seriously, your cakes posted here are as good as similar cakes I have seen from Ron. I wish I could get to be that good. I work full-time and do cake decorating in my spare time. It's definitely not a "hobby" for me, I just don't have enough time to practice as much as I should. Hopefully, I will be able to retire in a couple of years and then I can pursue my passion for sugarcraft full time.
