Chisels , hammer , googles ( when chiseling is a must ) , Geology or brick masonry hammer used to dig out shale / mud between rock layers , large carry bag with newspaper , small containers , drinking water , pen for collectiong info for record keeping a must for scientific worth . Fossils with out collecting data are useless to science . Write where found and from which hill side and how high up etc..Most beginners only need plastic bags and fingers .
