  • Thank you for the awesome instructions. I've been looking for something this detailed for a long time. What is your former made out of? It looks like a plastic spoon, but I can't tell what the other part of it is. I appreciate your help!

  • The former is made from a plastic spoon. The bases are very heavy foil cut from a disposable roasting pan or oven liner. Trace your largest petal cutter onto the foil, and cut out with scissors, adding about 1/4 inch all around. Fold the corners over the corner of a hard-backed book to make the point. Hot glue these to a board. Next, cut the handle of plastic spoon ad hot glue them to the foil, about 1/4 inch from the point of the foil pieces. You will need 5 to 6 foil formers per rose [my outer row is usually 5 to 6 petals, you can adjust to what ever size rose your wish to make. Cut out a petal, hold it by the edges and slip into the former, beding the edges back naturally as you insert. Let them dry 10 - 15 minutes, until they hold their shape, then apply to the rose you are making.
