This is the largest piece of wire lace I've done to date (over 200 bobbins and well over 100 hours of work!). The motif is taken from an early 18th century piece of flemish (Binche?) lace; I reconstructed the pattern based on a photograph from a hundred-year-old book! This shows the lace as I made it on the pillow, just tidied up and with a bail for hanging from a chain.
