November 2004, let's get started! All early Cockshutts were, in fact, Oliver tractors with Canadian paint, different decals and a few cosmetic changes. Cockshutt Farm Equipment Limited was founded in 1877 by James G. Cockshutt. The firm designed tractor-pulled implements and offered a line of American-built tractors. The result of their intensive development program was the Cockshutt 30- the first tractor equipped with live power take-off and a live hydraulic system.
