I bought some really inexpensive white Window and Door Caulking. It was the Ace Hardware brand and cost less than $3. I cut the top down really far so that I could easily sqeeze out the caulking. If you have strong hands, you may not want to cut the tip down so far. I had to push the cover into the hole backwards to cover it because I cut the tip down too far. You probably want to do the inside before you decorate the outside. You may want to use light weight spackling instead.
