This was a snap of the crank and big-end rod bearing, but now I see where a pocket of sand broke out in testing. look at the dark 'corner' near the bottom left of the photo.... I learned while cleaning up the inside that sand pockets were routinely painted over and would break out just like this at some prodding with the needle scaler.
