Soak your pieces in hot water until they become soft and plyable. Let the other pieces soak while you nail on the different strips. I measure my strips so they stay even down the sides. I usually start in the center of the top of the shield and work down the sides toward the bottom. Do not worry about where the pieces meet up. *See last picture.
