Please visit www.sarahannsmith.com At the end of a class with Hollis Chatelain, I had 40 minutes after I finished my second piece. I slapped my remaining dye print mix (and that of some neighbors) on a fat quarter, then later cut it up and reassembled it with sashing. I used every bit of the dye painted fabric, then quilted it with three huge maple leaves and wind swirls. It looked like an aurora borealis (sort of), yet the leaves remind me of autumn.
