Another view of the chicken being cast. The hypertufa mix used for the head and neck portion was 1 part Portland cement to 1 part sand (Note: In an earlier casting using peat, the head broke off and the comb and wattle were too brittle.). The mix for the rest of the chicken was 1 part Portland cement to 1 part sand to 1 part peat moss.
