In the late 50s and early 60s many operators began to economise their operations with one person operation. Many post war front engine single deck buses still had many years of service left but were unsuitable, as built, for OPO operations so many operators had them rebuilt or rebodied to this end. Provincial Traction went one better! Underneath this modern looking Reading Coachbuilders (Hilsea, Portsmouth) OPO single deck lies 1934 AEC Regal 4 chassis 0642136, originally fitted with Harrington
