nice pond looks big.how many gallons?i have a small one i put in last year 150 gallons.and a gravel filter i put in a half of a whiskey barrel.thought it turned out pretty well. lava rock ,good thinking.maybe you could use a full size whiskey barrel to give it a more rustic look.and you could still add your plants to the top.
