Hi Jane! I really want the robins back here. You always have so many beautiful birds and you get the best pictures of them. I hope you will be adding more pictures soon. Thanks for the guestbook entry on the Orchid album. I did look out in my garden today and found some daffodils trying to come up, but they're just barely popping throught the ground. Boo hoo!!! Where are the Chinooks in Missouri?? Lots of hugs. Sharon

Hello from Sunny South Florida. I love your "Birds and Bees" album! For several years I was an active member of the local Audubon Society group and headed bird count groups. I believe the one entitled "Hide and Seek" is actually a Scrub Jay. Where are you located? Charlie, West Palm Beach, FL

Hi Jane, what a pleasure is to view your wonderful album, with green scenery, warm weather and many birds. Our birds already are gone south to spend winter in warmer climate. Today, we have seen thousands Canadian geese flying in huge formation towards your countryside... Great and wonderful album. Regards, Rafal

Oh Jane! How did you ever catch that drop of water going down to the birdbath? You're so talented!!! I love the two new pics; you're birds are so beautiful. I put up another finch feeder today, so now we have two finch feeders. They'll go crazy. I need to sit out there more, so they can get used to me being there. We moved them closer to the patio tonight also. We moved the hummingbird feeder down by the walkout basement. I think the hummingbirds were intimiated by so many finches. :-))) We'll see. Have a lovely evening. Sharon

Hi Jane! I'm so glad you have your computer up and running and now we'll get to see more beautiful bird photos. I love spying on your birds. :-))) Thanks for the comments in my Grant's Farm album. We didn't have to use a zoom lens on any of the animals at Grant's Farm. The camels were just standing behind a wooden fence and people were feeding them. All the animals were just sitting around behind wood fences and we could walk right up to them and some we could even touch!!!! I didn't try to pet the Tortoise though!!! We were on a tram ride when we went through the Deer Park and took the Oreo Cookie cows. They were in the shade and unfortunately we weren't!!!! I wish the tram would have stopped at Grant's Cabin, but it just keeps flying by, so we had to snap fast and snapping fast with a digital camera is not easy. At least not with our digitals!!! Hurry and send some bird photos to Missouri; Bob and I love your bird photos. Hugs! Sharon

Time for a snack: awesome. Which reminds me, I saw a bird in ME that was the size of a robin, colored the same as a Baltimore oriole, but was yellow with black wings. A scarlet taniger gone blond? I know I should know, but can't remember what it is. Any clue? Your whole album here is wonderful. What patience you have! Your captions are wonderful. Thanks. Louise

Hey Jane. Fell in love with the doves. Courtship! Remember when?????:-))))) Now, I will go back and look at the rest. Just wanted to drop you a line. We had a terrific trip. I am putting all the pics in Greenfairways1. We took too many! But, isn't that usual for vacation. What a trip...terrific. There was no sadness, but, a lot of nostalgia. Charlie was enthrawled with the island, the people and scenery. The hospitality, well, hate to say it, but they should be growin' Southern hospitality pineapples up there. We loved it so much we are planning a rerun next summer. The most fun was, we stayed in the same room at the Inn of Bay Fortune where Grandpa wrote "Johnny Belinda". Thanks for writing in my guestbook. Talk to you soon. Have a good week. Feelin' good! Louise

Hi Jane! Thanks for the guestbook entry in my new album and the summertime album also. It's really hard to beat bird photos though. They are so precious and so difficult to photograph. You are doing such a super job. If we move at all in the house, the birds start flying away from the birdbaths and feeders. Maybe you guys move around more than we old folks do, so they're used to more action around your place. :-))) Keep peeking on those birds. XXXOOO, Sharon

Oh, Oh, I want the Goldfinch to come to by feeder for thistle seed and here you're feeding it spiders! What a darling pic. How did you ever catch a shot like that? Wonderful! The juvenile Jay is really precious also. I'm so glad he got his bath in, but he's not nearly as smart as the Mourning Dove because the dove is way too modest to let you take his pic while bathing. LOL :-)))) Love all the additions, Jane! A Happy Sunshine Friday! Sharon

Jane, I enjoyed the album very much. A few shots that really caught my eye were Courtship (#1), Beetle (#36), Bathing Beauty (#37)and Male House Finch (#39). I prefer #1 rather than #3 because the birds are looking toward each other. #36 is an exceptionally sharp picture. By including the birdbath at the bottom of the #39 shot you've filled the frame with interesting detail. Your daughter must share your interest in photography. Her Stayin' warm (#30) photo is exceptional. Glad you enjoyed my Parade album. The Mummers are from Philadelphia. Richard

Just got computer hooked up a couple of days ago, have lots of catching up to do! Kind of down in my back, so maybe that's a sign to sink into my very comfortable computer chair and rest for awhile! Hi Jane! Someone has been peeking at the birds bathing again! What a beautiful view from your windows! Bob thinks it would be a great idea for you to cover yourself with branches and leaves and try to sneak around the yard for bird photos. :-))) I'll talk later. Hugs and pretty birdie smooches. Sharon

Hey young lady! It's been too wet to go out and sit in the Outhouse Blind. We had about an inch of rain last night. I think if the birds get used to seeing the blind sit out there frequently they will get used to it and I'll be able to invade their privacy. :-))) If not, I'll use it for my little hideaway from Sharon! Just kidding!!!! You told Sharon your birds had gone. Where did they go? Have your cats scared them off? Maybe they're busy planning families for a few months and they'll be back. I sure hope so; you get such great shots of them at the feeder. Have a nice, quiet evening. Bob

Hi Jane! This album really, really needs to be featured. It is sooooo beautiful!! Bob and I always wondered what and how the turtledove feeds her babies. Well, we think we have seen now! I'll explain it in an email later! They are such a precious bird and I feel privileged to have offered my gutter to them for nesting this spring. LOL :-)) Thanks for the congrats on my featured album. That album is almost as old as me, but I'll take it anyway. LOL :-))) Oh, yes, while I am thinking of it, Bob had to chase the bunny away from the front yard last night while it was trying to dig a hole for a nest again!!!! Giant hugs and doggie treats for everyone. Sharon

Hi Jane! What have you been doing to the poor birds? Did the Bluejay have any trouble eating with the broken beak? You should be out there personally hand feeding that poor bird!!! Do you have the feeder attached to the house and how do you manage to get all these wonderful bird photos without scaring them away when they see movement, etc.? I can be working in my rose garden and the birds will be singing and flying all around, but when I lay my camera next to me for a quick photo shoot, the birds just all disappear and quit singing!!! I'm still trying to get Bob to build that "blind" for me to hide behind! LOL :-))) Have a wonderful day! Hugs! Sharon

Well, Jane, you'd better be sorry!!!! It's no wonder your tripod broke. :-(((( I'm surprised your tele and polarizers didn't break too! Those starlings are bad!!! :-((( I'm glad I have taught Sharon the fine art of chasing the starlings and blackbirds away from the robins. Those pesky sparrows kept the Chickadees from building a nice home in my birdhouse! :-((( Sharon wants to know if you put Petie's photo in one of your albums? Have a great evening and sunny Sunday! Hi Jane! The Goldfinch is beautiful. We have more of the finches with red on them around here, but there are some Goldfinches. Now as to the Cowbird, Bob would say "Shame, shame!" You're right about them laying eggs in other birds' nests and then making the other birds do all the work hatching them out. I chased one of these cowbirds out of my backyard yesterday. I really got a lot of exercise from chasing the bad birds away so the Robin could get her/his worms for their babies. The mamas weren't too happy with me with I was mowing and trimming because I was making too much noise! :-)))) Is there anyway you can check the first picture in this album; your thumbnail doesn't show up as a picture just a white box with a little red x in the upper left corner. When I click on it to put it into the download page, then the picture shows up, and it's probably just my computer or WS having fun, but do you see that darling photo of the Turtledoves on your thumbnail icon? Hugs and a sunny Saturday morning! Are you and Rod going photo-oping? Sharon

Oh well, I know they will be good and this will work later. I have to run! Have a lovely day! Even though you might get rain, I'm sure you will find something wonderful to photograph!! Hugs! Sharon

Hi Jane! This gorgeous album looks so pretty sitting in the Community Pages today. I am still so amazed at all the varieties of birds that are attracted to your feeder! I think I saw a Thrush of some kind in our backyard yesterday. :-)) I am disappointed that this album wasn't featured today. It certainly was beautiful enough to have been! Hugs to you and Rod, doggie treats for Petie and the girls! Sharon

Hi Jane! You are so talented at catching all those birds eating at your feeder. I don't think we have Black-headed Grosbeaks here in Missouri. It's a handsome bird and you took a great shot! Sharon said to tell you that she likes your new additions to this album also. I'm glad you're enjoying your camera and all the accessories; it's such a fun hobby, isn't it? Have a nice night! Bob
