  • Dear Robert, I just now found your comments in my guestbook -- it's difficult on this site to know when there are messages waiting! Thank you for the information on the Afghan beluch -- I don't believe the carpet dealer I bought it from told me much about it, only that he had had it in his house; he was pretty insistent that I should have it (he was a good friend of mine in Turkey). It's interesting that you brought up the piece I have described as an Iranian village carpet. Obviously I knew nothing about it -- I picked it up for next to nothing in Ankara as I was intrigued by the unusual eggplant color. Anyway, thank you for the information -- I'll take a closer look at it now (I rarely ever use it and it's been rolled up in the closet for quite some time). I'll look forward to your pictures when you get back from the Middle East (where I wish I was right now, instead of Okinawa!). Helen
