Another superb album. Your image resolution is smaller than my new camera photos and yet so much sharper. I'd love to know what camera and lens you use. Not sure if it is just me, the photographer, or if perhaps I need a better lens (I was told there were much better ones than I purchased, and more expensive that I couldn't afford). Just curious. Your pictures are just GORGEOUS !!! But you have some mislabelled : Monarch 3 is actually a Viceroy. #13 labelled Pipevine Swallowtail is actually a Dark-form female Tiger Swallowtail - as are #15 & 34. If you look at #15, you can see the phantom stripes ! #39 is an American Painted Lady - very similar to the regular Painted Lady, but the ventral wing pattern has larger and fewer 'eye' spots. (She is also more common to the South as she is hardier.) I am not familiar with all the varieties you have here, as they are not native to my area. Was this at a butterfly conservatory or in your yard ?! What a TREAT !!!!!! Thanks for sharing ! - Pat

Ronnie and Frances - you really must leave so many viewers more than astounded with the stunning works of art you've produced. Your butterfly photos are spectacular. I wondered, given the time and opportunity, if you could assist in passing on details of the species of butterflies I took in the USA (all S.E. FL area) - as a visitor to your country for a 2 months, I was unable to achieve this and realised from this album that your knowledge of lepidopterae is equally as amazing as your photographic talents. If it is easier, should you get the chance to do me the honours, my e-mail address is sbirkhead@mweb.co.za. Thanking you tremendously. I do hope this is recognised soon enough as yet another realised feature album. An excelling album of the beauty surrounding us. Best wishes, Sue

Great shots, and you title them too. It is a great help to know what you are looking at. Wish more people would do it.

I think this is the best album I have seen on Webshots Community. My ex-husband takes brilliant photos of British insects, so it takes a lot to impress me, but I am really impressed with these. If this album has never been featured it should have been. Thank you for sharing them - such beautiful subjects so perfectly captured. I didn't look in this album when I came to your collection before - I had no idea what a treat I was missing. Best wishes from Sue in South Wales.

PS - A question : are these all on your property, or were you at a butterfly place of some kind ? If you got all these to come to your house - I want to know what you plant !!! I'm jealous !

Butterflies are a favorite of mine too. They are a hard subject to capture & you've done a great job ! Thanks for sharing ! (BTW - on the first page you have two different species, both labelled Monarchs - one of them is a Viceroy ! Check eNature.com or a ID book to figure out which is which.) - Pat
