Hello again April, I'm glad you like my garden and the way it's laid out. I'll give you my best gardening tips...most people sit at their back door and look out into an empty yard and don't know where to begin. When I help my friends plan their gardens, I take them out to the corner farthest from the house and then turn around and look back at the yard. In that back corner there may already be a tree or bush, or fence. Begin there. Add a bench, a garden ornament of some kind such as a bird bath (but this needs to have clean water added everyday) or perhaps a soothing statue. Then add some flowers around it and there you have a great start. Go out there every day, and get as far from your house and your stressful life as you can. Leave the cell phone in the house. Take along a book or something to drink and "Come aside and rest a while". Then you might want to block off areas of sun and shade with appropriate plants. Even one small section of picket fence can divide one area from another. You get the idea. Add winding paths and secret corners and you'll have a lovely "haven of rest".
