Dear Pam, what a lovely album, and what a perfect birthday trip! I well remember reading Bill Bryson's "A walk in the woods" about the Appalachian trail (what a funny book!), it was so nice to see it in the flesh, so to speak. You Know Pam I should be mad! All my life I wanted to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway! and you didn't invite me, realizing you didn't know, makes me back up and wish you a Happy birthday! the appalation trail ends at the terminis of Mount Katahdin, Access by way of Baxter state park, which is just outside my home town of Millinocket, Maine,I recall one time while in High School a women stopped by and gave us students a verbal story of her experience traveling the trail Walking, that was her third trip. ever since then it has been one of those dreams! Hello Pam. Must have been a great trip. I use to dream of going to the Smokies when I was a kid in St. Pete. It's been a consuming summer for me so far plus all the fires smoking up the high country I haven't gotten to the mountains since May! Unheard of!
