Album Description:
I loved the transformation in my back yard. Oliver's Landscaping in Olynpia started in mid-July and finished up mid August. My very steep and unusable back yard was turned into a terraced Japanese Garden that will be a lovely space to enjoy with friends

Your yard is gorgeous! You really should load up your pictures of your landscaping to YardShare (www.yardshare.com). Your yard would be a great addition.

marjia, you have created a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors! it came out beautiful and it has so many wonderful elements. i am a bit jealous as i have a rather nice size backyard that i always wanted to create a outdoor getaway and unfortunitly now i will never get the oppertunity to do it. but i enjoyed yours a great deal and i appreciate you sharing it with us here. and who knows, maybe someday i will get the chance. :) angie m.

I have really enjoyed this album as we are in the middle of doing some landscaping too. Ours will take years, I fear! lol Anyway, we ARE making progress, and seeing yours completed is very encouraging. Thank you so much for your comments on my Weekend Warrior entries! ~Jade

Hi Marjie... JoAnn here again... Just had to come and look again at your beautiful new back yrad... I sure do love it... And also my hubby grew up on clover creek drive in Lakewood, Washington... About 20-30 minutes north of Olympia... And can you believe it he is an Oliver... Maybe one of his kin folks did your backyard... Olympia is a very beautiful town, I sure love it up there... Have you lived up there long??? I sure wish we lived up there still... instead of Chino Hills, Calif... It has been so HOT here Over 105 all last week.. Yuck... Well anyway I love this album... Have a nice evening... JoAnn

The work that went into creating the garden is unbelievable but the finished product is fantastic. When I look at it the only word that comes to mind is serene.I am sure you will spend many happy hours there. Thanks for your recent visit. Always nice to hear from you. All the best, Jo.

And I loved the photo by photo progress it was like being there... You did a great job on this album... And this would work well in my yard as we also have a steep hill too... I have always dreamed of having my own Japanese garden. I find them fascinating. Through the magic of photography we all get to enjoy this amazing transformation. I'll bet it was worth every penny spent. It is so serene and lovely... just like they are supposed to be. Clark from O'ahu.

Hi Marjie, First I want to thank you for leaving such nice messages in my albums today. It made me go back and revisit those photos and remember how my garden looked a few years ago. But as gardens will, it has evolved with time. Always a wonder, what God creates each day, isn't it? I enjoyed looking at your Japanes garden photos very much. It's lovely. You will enjoy it each and every day, I'm sure. Take care, Carol Jean

Tripped over news about this on Sharon's blog, Marjie. This is an amazing transformation to make a so-so space into something so totally useful as well as lovely! Good play by play! If I could afford it, I won't need a designer! Looks fabulous, Marjie, and sitting outside in the evening will be so nice now in late August. Now's also a good time for 'the' candle!! ~~~Leslie

Hi Marjie, You are on-line writing in my G/B as I write this. Just a quick note, as I'm on my way out the door... It makes me shudder as I look back at those photos (and I have some that are even more close up!) as the only thing between me and that bear was my camera & a pretty good zoom lens! He wasn't interested in the people...he just wanted the stringers of fish along the shoreline & any "picnic baskets" that he could get his hands on. What WAS I thinking, though! (Oh yeah...gotta get that picture!!!) Sometimes I really surprise myself! :-)

Marjie! You've created a backyard paradise here! No need to drive to the Japanese Garden ...just make your own...this is very inspiring for me to see as we've been battling ideas to figure out what to do with our backyard. We just can't seem to push the button and get it done! Hardest part is always finding someone who will be able to do a good job for you. These guys did great! Why are you so far away! I'd hire you for the inside (faux painting) and them for the outside :D....Big hugs. Marita

Hi Marjie. Fabulous transformation of your garden. Great idea to do the 'before' pics. What a beautiful and peaceful ambiance you have created. You have a wonderful setting now to sit and enjoy those warm sunny days and summer evenings. Sadly our weather has been pretty miserable for the last couple of days. I do hope we get to see the sun again before I start back at school. Take care. Hugs, Jayne xx

Marjie is that a water feature in the pic with Sarah? I kinda liked those pointy trees that were there before...cedar? It looks like it was a lot of work, but the garden does look lovely now. Enjoy! Mouse
