  • Jay, Your albums are wonderful, and these of wood are interesting. I want to thank you for taking time to write me a message about my "tags." I'm grateful to you, Jay, especially when you took time to show me my error - and to do it so nicely! I'm having heart surgery this Wednesday, and because of the surgery I had to cancel my 3 1/2 week tour of India. I had SO looked forward to it. Seeing your photos helped me imagine some of what I will be missing. IF you have a few minutes and can look trough my "Botanical Gardens" lillies and other items, I would love to get some guidance about the NAMES of the flowers that I love so much. Only if you have time, Jay. Again, thank you for your kindness. Art (doctorart)

  • I do agree with Tereza. Wood is one of the best Nature's materials to build furniture, houses and even boats. I know it due to my knowledge about materials' properties (physical, chemical and plastic) ... I am Mechanical Engineer although retired. Thanks for sharing your view about this material. Greetings from Portugal. Carlos.

  • Wonderful album, Jay. I remember trying to learn about the rings of trees when I was young, but never understood it well. Thanks to you, I now understand the growing cycle and dark and light rings. Wood is beautiful - both as a tree and as the products it produces. I think my love of trees and wood started early since my father was a carpenter and showed me many different kinds of lumber and the grain and how to recognize them. Good luck with your entries in this week's challenge! J

  • Good and informative album Jay. Thanks for your visit to my album. I knew that the rings indicated the age of the tree and how much it grew in a season, but I did not realize that the light rings are from spring and the dark from autumn! Thanks for the information. Dan, Nevada USA
