Missing you this week and hoping you are up at the lake. (I didn't post either, for that reason) Did you see this month's MN Monthly? Or perhaps it was June's... but anyway there was a great article on MN lakes, this time listing so many of them. And Vermillion was listed as having the most shoreline and yet 5th largest. I think it was listed for many other attributes as well, but this is the one that struck me. Very cool. Have fun at the lake Rob!

Hey Rob. The Wild Wings sanctuary is new to me. This was the first time I'd been for a visit to it. i'd love to be able to see a release though. That would be pretty amazing. One thing I have been able to witness is the snaring and banding of Hawks and other Raptors along Lake Ontario. You must have groups along Lake Michigan do this as well. Take care, Ray

Hi Rob, The sunset from July 13th is gorgeous, I will be back later just wanted to check in. I have been spending time with my 12yr old Grandson and other family members during the past 3-4 weeks. I have a setting on my camera which allows me to choode what type of lighting I'm in, sunny, cloudy, florescent and tungsten. Hello again, Rob. In answer to your question about the technique used in the photo "Reflection" in my "3 Photos a Week" album, I believe it is the gouache effect in Virtual Painter (PSP). Thank you for your generous comments on my first three "entries" in the challenge. Chloe has been my sweet companion for 16 years and is a very cooperative subject. That is true that at first glance it appears that she is outside. If you look closely, you can see part of me in the reflection as I was taking the picture. On looking at others' 3-a-week photo albums, I saw that one of the "rules" is that the pictures be taken that week. Unwittingly I broke that rule with the one of Chloe. It was taken last summer. Hi Rob! I enjoyed your 3 photos this week even though you were having to work way too hard. My photos might be late next weekend because we are going to Louisville, KY, next week. One of our granddaughters is having surgery and we are going to be staying with the other granddaughter because our daughter and son-in-law will be spending lots of time at the hospital. I just hope we get down there without having to drive on ice! Terrible weather heading this way. Hope you enjoy your weekend. Sharon

Hello Rob - I see three great photos reminding me it is winter! The shot of the floral patterned ice is superb! I have never noticed ice very much - except to slip on it. With photography we learn to examine all things with a different eye. Great choices this week! - DeeAnne :)

Hi Rob! Do you have snow in Minnesota? We made the best of the weather yesterday and the warm temperatures. Rain is on the way for the weekend. At least it's rain! I enjoyed your 3 photos this week. I think we're all running short of time to find 3 photos during the holiday seasons. Next week will be my real challenge! We are leaving Sunday, drive a couple hours from home, babysit our 6 month old grandson, drive back home and get one day to finish up getting ready for all the family to come home for Christmas, plus I throw my birthday in on the 23rd just for a little extra fun!
