Hi My name is Dan and I just bought a small house that need to be jacked in order to make a 6 foot basement 8 feet. I see from you photos that you did this to yours and I was woundering if you did it yourself or hade a contractor do it? I am hoping you did it so that you can give me all the pointers you can. I live in a small town in northern Ontario where no one does this kind of work. I am a roofer and renovator and am looking forward to the challange of the job but since it is something I've never done I am looking for all the tips I can get. I love all that you did especially the in floor heat. The house I bought is only 600sqf so a full basement would be such an asset. I have ideas of putting in dormers to use the attic as well. Things I need to know are: Jacks Blocking Support for main floor Anything you could tell me would be welcomed even things you would have done different. Dan
