Edward Spencer Viscount Althorp married The Honourable Frances Burke-Roche at Westminster Abbey on June 1, 1954. The couple became known as Viscount and Viscountess Althorp. The couple lived at Park House, on the Sandringham Royal Estate in Norfolk, England. The couple had their first child, The Honourable Elizabeth Sarah Lavinia Spencer on March 19, 1955, their second child arrived, The Honourable Cynthia Jane Spencer on February 11, 1957, their third child, The Honourable John Spencer on January 12, 1960, The infant boy only live for 10 hours and passed away. Their fourth child, The Honourable Diana Frances Spencer arrived on July 1, 1961, and the couples had a fifth child that was The Honourable Charles Edward Maurice Spencer arrived on May 6, 1964. The Spencer Children were Baptised at St. Magdalene Church on Sandgrinham Royal Estate. The couple seperated in 1967 and dicorced 1969. The Spencer family have been close to the royal family for decades. Ruth Lady Farmoy (Diana's) maternal grandmother was a long time friend and Lady in waiting to the HM Queen Mother and the HM Queen. The Honourable Diana Spencer went to prep school at Riddlesworth Hall until 1975. The Spence family lived in South Park house until the 7th, Earl Spencer passed away in 1975 and Viacount Althorp became the 8th, Earl Spencer and moved his family to the Spencer Family 16th, century ancesteral Althorp House in Northamptionshire. Diana became The Honourable Lady Diana Spencer. The Spencer family is of a Royal and aristtocratic ancesteral back ground. When Viscount Althorp and Viscountess Althorp seperated it was hardest on the youngest children and Diana took to mothering her brother and looking out for him and caring for him. On the long train rides the two would have to take to visit their mother Diana would care and comfort her brother. Diana gave her time, love and affection to her little brother Charles. The two youngest children were the closest out of all the Spencer children.

I'm very curious as to how you were able to photograph such intimate family shots of the Spencer's. Did you go on a tour of the house?

Hi Dawn; It was very interesting to go through this album and see Diana's heritage. i had not seen these photos before and I thank you for all of your hard work to gather this information. I just found a book called THE SPENCERS by Charles Spencer and tells the history of the family. Thank you for sharing this outstanding album.
