Album Description:
Once every other year the Seattle Floating Homes Assn. has a tour of 15 of the about 500 homes on the water here in Seattle. This is some of what I saw on the tour.

Lovely camera work!!! When I was growing up - this area, and houseboats, was all low income type housing, therefore looked nothing like these totally renovated expensive places. This area was much smaller, lots of various types of commercial fishing boats of all sizes around in differing states of repair, an area more like an industrial setting. I liked things much better then, it was a very interesting work area for ordinary people - words like: plain, without airs, unassuming, natural, down-to-earth, simple, Seattle historical - describe it best - as it was back then. Of course it looks nice in today's times ... I'm not stupid - (smile)! But time travel back - and one might agree with what once was. ~ Gary, a native Seattle-ite

I worked on this type of "house" in Miami. Back when I was a rookie at my trade. What I didn't realize {think of} for the first 7-10 days on the first house was they are NEVER stationary. Level this minute...outta level the next. Nice album.

Great pictures. We were just up there over Labor Day and I wish we had taken a tour to see these homes. SOunds kinda neat to be able to live on the water like that.

What an exciting way to live! Have a friend in Gig Harbour and always wondered what it looked like up there!! (she's camera shy). Loved your album!
