Well, I`ll answer to some of your questions here... I live in the capital city of Latvia - Riga (it was founded at the beginning of the 13th century). I travel all around my country, and my photos are from lots of different places in Latvia. I`ve been studying at the Latvian Academy of Culture where I acquired MA in Arts. So now the formal studies are over. Your suggestion concerning the titles of the photos is a really good one. The thing is that I simply haven`t had time to rename all those photos (quite a lot!). Maybe someday... By for now... have a nice day, Judy! P.S. All the chronologically ordered photos from IMG_0151 to IMG_0402 (15 items) represent the place your Latvian ladybug came from.

Hi Judy, Some more lovely bug photos here. People everywhere must be ooking out for them for you. Including me. On my recent holiday I saw a jumper with ladybugs on it and took a pic only to find out its like the one Jayne took a while ago. I also have a shot of a Ladybug pill box and it's beautiful but the only way I could get a good shot was to hold it on my hand. Hi, thank you for visiting my album Giant Turtles, i was by the side of the turtle in the hotel beach, the Hilton Hotel, i touched the eggs and touch the turtles too. I cooperated as a tourist to light the human work with my video camera, it was 1 a.m. they make a big effort to keep and protect the eggs, they build nests, and two months later when the babies emerge, let them go to the sea by night is a wonderful sight. Hi Judy. If your husband has called you his Ladybug since 1959 then you must have been married almost as long as Betty and I - and we celebrate our 50th in November (so I am reminded!) Anyway, it was great to see you popping up in my Winter on the West Aussie Coast album, which was all shot over about 3 hours on Wednesday afternoon. I still live in hopes of getting to a beach with a camera when it is rough - those seem to be the days when we stay indoors! Hi Judy, thanks for your reaction on the raindrops album. It is one of my favourite albums. Of course you may add pictures nr. 17, 29 and 77 to your lady bug album. I am honoured to be part of it. It is a very joyfull album, and I liked it a lot. I always like to take pictures of these creatures, they are so lovely. I was away for the weekend, and because I have to move my parents to their new home, I have very little time at the moment. If you ever come to Australia I recommend the Hunter Valley gardens as they use ladybugs as their theme plus it is an outstanding garden set in the Wine region. Sandra

Hi Judy. WOW, this is an album that won't be forgotten in a hurry! Great idea and extremely well put together - I had no idea there were so many varieties of them around the world. Out here we seldom get to see any at all. Now to thank you for all the comments in my Public Shoebox and to answer your question I really got there by accident! As I don't have Direct X I was not able to Upload photos from my home page - instead I was given the options of uploading them to either Public or Private Shoebox. I unthinkingly chose public but was then not able to find where they had gone - until out of the blue I got a Guest Book entry from Ken (Hircock). That was the first I knew that I had created a new album!! LOL Then I got to thinking about it and decided I might as well make it a sort of pot pourri of photos, much as you might find in an old shoebox lying around the house. At least now I have somewhere to put all the pics that won't fit in elsewhere! Make sense? By the way I think this all came about because I use Firefox instead if Internet Explorer as my browser. Hi Judy, I've never seen an album with nothing buy ladybugs within, quite a feat collecting all these gems. Was out walking one morning, found a 'herd' of ladybugs on the bole of a spruce tree, thousands of 'em and taking a closer look, still couldn't figure out what they were doing, but t'was interesting just the same and no pictures. Wish you well, thanks for the look. You mentioned getting poison ivy when you were a kid, and where I'm located its called poison oak, probably the same itch though - and gross would be the word. Didn't get poison oak as a kid, but I'm now getting it as a big kid. The anecdote works better than the calamine lotion and doesn't look as bad either. Best regards to you and yours. Dear Judy; What a fabulous album! I just love this that these pictures have come from around the world to celebrate your nickname. Gotta say, some of those ladybugs looked HUGE! I am on the lookout now for ladybugs in all of their many forms, but I did want to share with you something I had done concerning ladybugs. Back when I had my nursery, mostly with roses and perennials, I gardened stricktly organic. No chemicals or bug sprays to contaminate my flowers. So I wrote a small article to give to my customers about controlling the aphids. Basically what I found, was if you just left the aphids alone, that in a few days, the ladybugs would show up for the feast of aphids. But your garden had to be free of the chemical pesticides or else the ladybugs wouldn't stop by. I never found my plants to be greatly harmed by the aphids and the ladybugs never let me down. Dear Judy, I was just thinking the other day, when I saw a ladybug, and did not have my camera with me, that from now on I will always think about you. And now this lovely album.
