Hi again Stan, my turn to pop by & see how you are doing. So many new albums! Now it so happens that a week after this event of yours, I attended our National Orchid show in London. You have some amazing macros here but I have gone for either the delicate bloom or the mass colour! Oh & my album is on the other name ericy102 with one from the RHS London spring flower show. We had 5 days in London that were very cold & misty, would not think California has ever been so cold at sea level, LOL. the one bright day we visited Kew gdns so here there is an album on that, together with some "bits & pieces" from London. Has just started to warm up here, my first daffodil opened in the garden last saturday. Eric

Hi Stan, Your Orchid photo's are exquisite! Are you a member of the Orchid Society there? My best friend's fiancee is the President of the Orchid Society here. I know he travels all over to conventions about Orchids and makes numerous trips to California. Perhaps you know him. This is a gorgeous album! I just love flowers of all kinds....and my family is from Manteca originally so your album title caught my eye! My grandparents lived there from the 1910's to the 1980's. There just isn't enough attention given to the beauty within the San Joaquin valley. I visit often.... Keep up the great work!

In Singapore I had a whole outside balcony full, all kinds of different colors and species. Some of them would bloom for months!!! Ha...it's the secret life of worldtripper3! Thanks for your nice comments, Stan. Darmstadt is only about 1hrs drive from my hometown. You drive up the Rhine River, take a right in Koblenz, down the Mosel (Moselle) river, take a right in Bernkastel, go up a few hills into hill country and 30 mins later you're there!! Yup, I do miss that hearty food, the great wines and more than that the great german beer (5000 breweries in little old Germany). Between winefests and beerfests and fests-for-whatever-reason , the people stay pretty busy and jolly!!! Love to have you by for another visit. In Idar-Oberstein the Speciality is Schwenkbraten. A succulent 2inch piece of Pork, expertly marinated for 2 days in loads of onions, cognac (or beer), various spices and then swung over an open fire on a grill hung between a tripod (ja, they're good for cooking too) til it's done, yuuuummmm!!!Later, Marita, Houston, Texas

I am by no means an expert on orchids (roses are more my flower of choice) but I do know a great photo when I see one and these of yours are all in that category. Oh Stan, this is so beautiful that I almost went into tears. I was with a knot in my throat seeing these ravishing photos. This is, no doubt, one the most beautiful things I have ever seen in photography. The colors, the textures, and the flowers are wonderful. It is almost peccaminous the way these orchids look, because some of them remind us such sensitive, to not use another word, things. I'm absolutely surrendered to your art. You are the best!
