  • Hello there, Grizz! The trip to these old churches has been an eyeopener and an educational one for me. Truly amazing that these edifices still stand whole despite time and exposure to the elements. I am more amazed at how people care for and preserve these old structures. Perhaps it could be that their own loved ones lie in its grounds and that preserving the church meant some connection with or attachment to beloved members gone ahead. Whatever that motivation may be, I am just glad that you were able to take these pictures, curate them somehow - for my own benefit and use as example. Your album encourages me to look into my own churches here in the Philippines. Those, too, have so much history of 400-year Spanish influence. Thank you so much for inspiring me, Grizz. I certainly look forward to that day when I can retire soon and do also what you're doing. Perhaps maybe not on a motorbike, but something else - like a 4x4 wheel drive all terrain vehicle of sorts. For now, I'll just have to dream on. God bless you, my friend! ~~~Mary Ann

  • Nice albums, when you visit Gardner Mt, have you ever gone into Yellowstone and Teton NP and visited the various "Travelers Church" there? They are really nice as well and nestled in great scenery. Have visited that are yearly since 1991. Visited northern west coast for first time summer of 05. Wow. Never made it to BC. Was outvoted but will make it next time. Thanks for sharing.

  • What a fantastic album of old Churches. Many are very unique, and your shots are great. I use to do oil painting and I was fond of old barns and deserted houses. You have made many of the old churches come alive and it is evident they have many stories to tell.

  • Hello from Western Michigan. I am thoroughly enjoying your beautiful album. You have photo after photo of great shots of these old edifices. It is too difficult to choose a favorite, something I tend to try to do. It looks like the folks on the Island make a community effort to preserve and keep up the churches. Bravo. - DeeAnne :)

  • Hello Gerry! Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my featured Peru album. I sincerely appreciate your time and effort. I would like to spend more time with your pictures, but right now webshots is reacting very erratically. I will return as soon as it settles down. Once again, thank you! Best wishes, Suresh

  • Hello Griz! (I wish I knew your real name) I really enjoyed this unusual album. Firstly, this compendium of churches in BC itself is a treat and to think that you took the photographs while riding around in your mobike makes it all the more interesting. How many different types of architecture! Small ones, big ones, simple ones and not so simple ones! I enjoyed the slideshow. Thank you for your kind comments in my Cyprus album. Having been there, you must have related to the scenes. I found Cyprus very enjoyable, particularly because it is not a large country and so easily navigable. Best wishes, Suresh from India

  • Hi, I was recommended to view your album by annedm1. Very lovely and well done. I find it interesting how all of the old churches have their cemeterys in their back yards. I have recently noticed (here in Florida) that new areas, new churches etc, don't even take into consideration a cemetery. Interesting. Thanks for sharing your lovely images. Eti from Florida

  • Hello Grizz. Thanks for the lovely tour of these wonderful old churches. Interesting subject and nicely photographed. That BLUE sky was a wonderful backdrop when you visited St Ann's church. I just adore BLUE skies. I am never as happy as when I see one and guess what, we have one today and the sun is shining, which is rare for February. I'm on holiday from school this week so I ought to be out with my camera, but sadly I have too many jobs that need doing. Never mind. Must tell you that my worldwide postboxes are progressing nicely. Take care. Jayne/West Midlands, UK :) xx
