Thanks for giving us all the names: even if we forget them, we like to read them and we will not forget the beauty of these extraordinary creatures! Thanks Sharon and Bob! Hello Sharon! This commenst may sound like 'me too' one, but it definitely is not. I have viewed your orchid pictures many times over in slow timing, downloaded many and absorbed the colours and variety and marvelled at your impeccable photography. You have done every orchid proud. I just came back from a vacation in Thailand and took some pictures of orchids in their horticultural Expo. You album is, however, a comprehensive one and one which I greatly appreciate. All my best wishes, Suresh

Beautiful, wonderful photos! In the depths of the looming winter months, I'll stop by here often for springtime color. 2 years ago, while on our annula canoe trip in the BWCA, we came across some wild orchids near our campsite. A Pink Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium acaule). Amazing the beuaty wilderness can grow. being an orchid fan, I thought you may enjoy 2 photos I took of the Pink Lady Slipper Orchid. http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2601423270065247733xzyAkT http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2999206190065247733LWSMFS Rob from MN

Sharon, I adore Orchids and The Wind and the Willows was my favorite book as a kid. You have combined the best of both worlds and I can only imagine how much fun you have had with it. Thank you for sharing, you have really made my day as I now have all my favorite woodland friends along with some gorgeous orchids keeping company with my grandkids as screen savers on my computer.

Hi, Sharon! You have so many intriguing albums it's hard to know which to start with after your bird album. These orchid photos are gorgeous. I especially like the ones of orchid clusters and branches -- you compose them so nicely. I've got a new album of Bodie Island and Lighthouse (Outer Banks, NC), with some flowers and wild birds, if you're interested. I've added to my Roses album as well. Hope you'll stop by again. I know I'll be back to see more of yours! Best wishes, SJ Abrams in Virginia

Hey, hey Sharon! This was a FUN journey thru Orchid Land With T,R,M & B and of course Sharon. Stellar closeups, nicely mixed with the cute little fellows! I used to visit the Singapore Orchid Gardens at least once a month. Due to the climat they grow outside there and it is a wonderful place. But I just never got any real decent closeups, so I am thankful for these! Have a wonderful week, Marita

Hello Sharon! Oh yes, you are the first person discovering our just opened flower album! Thanks for your nice message! It's an opportunity for me to come back in your wonderful orchid album: such a great variety!!! For us, it's the same with orchids at home, as you write in your GE: They don't like our home too much... :-) The orchid of our new album is an exeption, but for how long...? The plants you saw there are not all from my birthday, but the beautiful tulips from Heinz and the great arrangement from Barbara who phoned to a florist here... she is in Saumur for vacations with her horse for a training week. I'll download now some of your so special orchids! To Bob and you a nice weekend! Love and hugs, Käthi

Hello again Sharon, I came back for another look with my 102 name, just checking on how many names are same as over here, only one I could see No 28 & I have that as one of my favorites. On march 18th we visited the National orchid show in RHS hall London. Fantastic experience, colours & scent knocked you over. I know you are a very busy Lady but if you have time, try & take a look at my album. I also have one from spring flower show in same place. If you are a glutton for punishment (LOL) over on 202 is a Kew Gardens album with the newest architectural feature only opened 5 days before our visit, the Davies alpine house, quite distinctive. Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures. I love them, they make me smile and feel good. I don't see how you can call yourselves amatures, I haven't seen any photos any better,by pros. Please continue shooting pictures and bringing joy to the people that would never have known this beauty if not for your camera. Thank you again, Lydia

Hi Sharon and Bob, I see you two also visited the Botanical Garden for the Orchid Show. I was checking out Lynn's album and saw your post. My friend and I just went on Wednesday and I got my photos posted last night. It's interesting to note that between the days of our visits they changed out some of the orchids because I noticed that you have some photos of orchids I didn't see. Your photos are beautiful and you were very good to get all of the proper names to each orchid. I knew I should have, but I was afraid I would wear out before I got them all listed and photographed. So, I ended up giving some of them made-up names of whatever came to my mind as I was looking at them. What a wonderful exhibit. And..it smelled heavenly in there. I can hardly wait until the glass show. Anyway, I love your album. Lots and lots of warm wishes. Donna/Missouri

Your pictures are FABULOUS!!! The earlier ones were also beautiful, but I REALLY like having the names on the pictures-- so I can tell a cattleya from a vanda (however, I see you can't tell just by looking). I wish I had a conservatory-- I'd shoot Col Mustard! Keep up your work, the world needs more beauty, and you sharing it makes my Montana day (-23 right now)much warmer!! Suzanneh from Montana

The orchids look magnificent in your shots and the Missouri Botanical Garden should be commended for the beautiful presentation they made!More than anything else I was astounded by the fact that you wrote the name of almost every flower presented!!!!Friendly regards and many thanks for such joy! Orchids what a exceptional flower grew some in CA and tryed to bring them with me but they soon all died off here in Oregon. Late as usual making the rounds but came to thank you for your sweet comment in my featured...I just get so mixed up trying to answer all the comments and viewing albums at the same time, it takes me forever. Bonjour Sharon, orchids have always been my favorite flower and thanks to you and your amazing photography,i'm really spoiled with this beautiful album.Definitely a lot of favorites, especially your macro shots, the design of orchids being so intricate,it's nice to see them so close. Thanks for your kind words my friend,i'm keeping a very low profile this winter, having so little snow makes it impossible to have some decent winter pictures,so i'm cleaning up my albums, even taking out some of the pictures i did not think were very good in the first place, and adding a few new ones here and there,i'll be more busy as spring comes along!!Have a great week.Luc

Hi. What pleasure seeing an album like yours. It heats our heart even in the most cold Winter. I loved the flowers, all of them. I think that a person who has access to such beautiful show, is, no doubt, a privileged person. But you deserve it, because you capture so well the beauty, the fragility and the pureness that these wonderful flowers transmit. And I admire so much people who create and treat such beauty and rare plants. But I also adored "Mr. Toad's Orchid Adventure". It's so cute. I had a good laugh seeing it. Congratulations and God bless you. Rosa, in Portugal

Hi Sharon and Bob, What a beautiful album. It is a sight for eyes sore from searching to and fro for color and life in an area that is in the midst of winter's sleep. But soon we shall wake up! :o) . You both are so blessed to have the Botanical Gardens near to you. I have thought of going to Buffalo, NY's garden for visit but it hasn't happened yet. It is about an hour or a little more away. I think you have inspired me to make the trip hehe. As usual your photos are so sharp and crisp. Colors are vibrant and rich. I agree with those who said your album should soon be featured. Among my favorites (which are all of them) are the Many Orchid Colors... photo, DSCN2482, and the Sweet Little Orchid Faces photo. As much as I love the macros, their detail and color, I am a fan of seeing them in perspective as well. Especially with the beautiful arrangements the horticulturists (is that right?) have placed throughout the Gardens. It's nice again to see your contributions to Webshots. Thank you for sharing. Lord bless you both and take care, Ray

Good morning to you Sharon! I started to run the slide show around 1:30 am and now it is 3:30 and I am still browsing around. What a treat you gave us here!! Only to write down all the difficult names of these wonderful orchids is an enormous task...for the one you can not tell you say that you will do better next time?? Well, you better do Sharon, it is not to forgive you that one name is missing!! Shame on you!!! ;-)******************** Did you notice that 28 is a perfect face and hat of a pirate? Fantastic. Then here are my favorites (they are too many but I will try): # 22, 25, 28 (the pirate) 30, 31, 39, 42, 44 and 55 which is an almost frightening face. All this saves me a trip to St. Louis and that is a saving which I owe to you Sharon and Bob. A wonderful gift and hours of joy to see all this. But please next time ALL the names OK? lol Also I thank you for visiting my birds. They appreciate it same as me. A big hug for both of you, see you when it gets featured, which has to happen soon. kathy

Dear Sharon and Bob, Thanks for bringing us the sights we cannot see or photograph unless we were to travel to St.Louis at the right time of the year! It seems to me that the orchids in this year's show are more exotic than ever - and your photography is as outstanding as always. I cannot resist uploading most into my computer - to use as wallpaper and to cheer me up with screen savers ! The show's setting is absolutely wonderful and so natural - it must have been a thrill to walk through it and capture it in such wonderful detail and with the correct names. Not to forget the little critters that look so cute in their different activities - a beautiful added touch and such a great idea! My heartfelt congratulations - I am sure this album will soon be on the winners' list. With a hug and my best wishes, bruno

Hi Sharon and Bob! Thanks for this wonderful Orchid gift that we discovered this morning! You created another great Orchid album that we will visit more than one time! Nice idea to add the funny little animal visitors on your display! I love the bright colors of #6, the amazing shape of #7, the special red of # 24, the delicate colors and form of #31, the white and yellow in #39 and the 46#: so diffrent with the green shades. Also Blue Vanda Hybrid looks quite diffrent from the other species. It's great to visit this wonderful flowers on a very cold winter day as we have just now! Thanks again! Hi Sharon and Bob...Oh these orchids are outstanding!!! I love them all. My favourite is Old South, but it is so hard to choose. There are so many that I love, especially the dark ones and the purple and white and fushia and white. I love the Toad, Rat, Mole and Badger displays. When I came on the computer tonight it showed that you had a new album, then it disappeared, and then it appeared again, but some photos were in different places. But I really love this album and I am so glad I got to see it. Your photography is wonderful too. The flowers would not look as beautiful if it wasn't. hugs and love, and been thinking of you, Barbara

Hello again Sharon, stunning photos of the orchids as usual & what variety. So many different colours & such an amusing theme to the exhibition. The No 15 is I think one we sometimes get as table decoration on cruise ships, so long lasting & a delicate form. I still think the "ladies slipper orchids" are best as they are all we could get in UK many years ago when my Mother was a florist. Eric
