They are so beautiful. Your paragraph, however, has a 'but' that is not completed!! I imagine that it is saying that lupins are a nuisance weed or something like that, am I right? I don't think they are considered as such in the Maritimes here, yet.

This is one of my favorite flower albums in the whole webshots. I'm surprised I never saw it sooner.

SPECTACULAR!! Wish I was there in person! Have you ever read the story of the Lupin Lady? She wanted to make the world a better place so she went around sowing Lupin seeds. I think she succeeded! Will our photos be what makes the world a better place once we are gone? Hmmm, I wonder...

Hello Bernard: I just had to view this dynamite album full screen via Desktop. As you're in my WS friend list, that was possible. I'd LOVE to have an opportunity to feed these gems to my camera. Unfortunately they're not indigenous to my region. I can only hope I can find them grown horticulturally somewhere, but it wouldn't be the same as open fields of them. Anyway, you certainly did these gorgeous specimens justice with your expertise. Have a super holiday season. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Ron.

Lupins are one of my absolute favourites! Love your black mattes, look so classy. Will probably download many of these, Bernard. I know this is an older album but I still appreciate it greatly! Leslie

Well, you've done it again, Bernard! Beautiful lupins. In Atlantic Canada lupins grow wonderfully around the month of June. When I was on the South Shore in September, there was one lupin blooming all alone by the roadside - an unheard of occurrence in September! I laugh at my pic of my lonely lupin, and revel in your scads of them.

Hello Bernard!! Well, I'm not surprised...another spectacular album! I see this is an older album that you've been updating, but I must've missed it before. I'm surprised because I love lupines...they're one of my top three favorite flowers. Unfortunately, I have no luck growing them, but I love to look at them! Thanks for a dash of Spring, as we settle into another dreary winter here in the Midlantic region of the US. Hugs, Linda in Maryland, USA

Hi Bernard, thanks for your comments in my Arrowtown guestbook. You have so many aweseome albums! This one in particular brings back so many memories of NZ over Xmas! I lived in In'gill for many many years and the lupins around the south island at that time of year are spectacular, especially in the Arrowtown riverbeds! Cheers, Sharon, Brisbane Australia

Hi Bernard, Wow, you were quick in answering and thank you. This is one gorgeous album. Would you believe I have one little pot of lupines in my kitchen window that I grew from seed last year and nursed it through our winter. And you have it growing wild along your roadsides in such glorious profusion. In case you haven't heard of the webshot users group, I would like to relay this URL and invite you to join in. One of first and most active members is a very talented lady from NZ by the name of Ella. http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/thewebshotsusergroup/

Hello Bernard, many thanks for you visit to my local "Treescapes" album. I was immediately attracted to this album of yours as I was brought up a few miles away from the nursery that Mr Russell developed the strain. People used to come for miles around to view the fields. These look healthy at side of road, over in UK there is now a virus attacking them & they do not last long, I had a few in my gdn but now they are dying off, just the odd seedling comes up now. I was hoping to tour NZ soon but wife will not fly that far, my Son worked for 10 weeks in Aukland & had 5 days in Cookstown when the job was over, he wants to go back with his wife now. Eric

Hi, Thanks for the kind words in my guestbook. This is such a beautiful album. I was very suprised to see the last picture, it is hard to imagine such lovely flowers growing beside the road.
