  • Hi Rod! Oh, what a massive undertaking! Not an easy task when you are also living "On Site", but you have achieved so much and I am pleased that you have documented the change -- great encouragement whenever you feel as though it is never-ending! Great results and you have every reason to feel really proud of the efforts. Love the idea of an Attic Office too! Thankyou for your kind words in my g/b and your interest in Tasmania (which is about as English as you can get in Australia). Best wishes.. Gladys, Western Australia.

  • Hello Rod,I know what it is renovating. So I know as good as you that it just takes too much time. But you did a great job and I'm sure that the garden will look wonderful after you finished that as well.It took us three years of our live to rebuild our house. We replaced everything from the floor to the roof. From the plumbing to electricity, new kitchen, new garage and our garden had a facelift aswell. And we did most of it all by ourselfs, and that really is very satisfying. So all the best, you have our moral support. Many regards,Henri and Josee/Belgium

  • Hi Rod, had a look at this album & know it is quite old, but these sort of things interest me. After volunteering to paint my mothers kitchen in an old house as a 14 year old, I never wanted to work on an old property again!! So over the years I have designed & self built all the last 3 property's we have lived in. Very satisfying & less hassle than I see on these TV progs of people doing adaptions. Not many people know about our little "secret" bit of UK so I have put on 3 albums "within 5 miles of home" hope you find time to view. Eric

  • Hello Rod McLeod, how dumb of me not to notice that it was you who put those so right words into the blog. I totaly agree that by deleting old rubbish pics and replacing them is the best way to go, puty we can't delete the party pics but each to his own. I am constantly deleting and replacing pics striving to make some albums better as time goes by. As I learn from people like you Rod it is I feel the thing to do. anyway I am mean and don't want to pay for more pics, lol. I know what you mean about doing up a bungalow that is exactly what I did several years ago good job I was younger then, a very time consuming endeavour but the results are worth it, thanks for the Gb, there is actually nothing new in that album but I tied to move a pic out of it and it immediately registered a new updated Album. sworry but it will get a few more viewings, which incidently are all working correctly again thank goodness, did you notice that the daily upload fig went from 1 mil down to 400,000, no wonder they soon put it right, cheers mate and forgive my ramblings just had a can of cider, take care Ken

  • I love the results of your rebuilt home. Down in my country we say the first year in a new home is only worthy of an enemy, the second is enjoyed by your friends, and only then in the third year you fully and peacefully feel at home. A bit drastic but rings true during demolition and homecoming time. Saludos from Argentina, Maria Elena.

  • Hi Rod. I've visited this album many times - call it a sort of professional interest. Not that I was a builder or anything but I DID used to like all that DIY stuff such as laying bricks, pavers etc. etc. Doing what you did would have had it's frustrating moments for sure but it would have been great fun nonetheless I'm sure. But are you still in that house? Many thanks for signing my latest wildflowers etc guest book and, in fact, there are over 12,000 varieties of wildflowers in our state alone but some are in such remote locations that the chances of ever getting to see them are very small. Anyway, I've almost caught up with all the messages etc and can now concentrate on getting some more photos edited and on line. Cheers for now, Peter

  • Hi Rod. You did a great job with the house. Was it worth the agravation it would have caused? Were you the builder? I'm thinking yes. Thanks for sharing mate. Best wishes Al.

  • Well done Rod, on the house and the pics! DIY is a pain but when the results are as great as yours it's worth it! We have been through the same thing and sympathize with you and your wife. It always feels so good to make a place your own. Can't wait to see more! Thanks for sharing this experience! Jane

  • Thanks for sharing the pics of your house & gardens, which are pretty nifty by the way....I love looking inside people's homes, not nosy, but just to see how other people live. I was terrified of your dogs, tho. Pretty scarry bunch. If you ever get over here, I'd love you to come to visit my house, garden, cats & all my woodland critters...Very nice, clean photography,..can't wait to see what you'll do to the gardens...
