OLD DOOR KNOCKERS in the City of PAU, France

My goodness, are there any knockers that you did not find, Hello Kaethi and Henrie, so good to view again one of your more quaint albums, it must have taken you a week to find that many.I see also that I am the first to sign this GB which of course I am very pleased to do. thanks you for your kind words in my latest Butterfly album but if I can request you to have another look I added about 20 more this morning, last night I was unable to do it all as Webshots would not allow me to upload them where I wanted to go. so I left it until this morning. Hello Henri and Kaethi, This is the second series of old door knockers, it seems there are a lot of them in Pau. And it strikes me that there are a lot of "hands" among them. The photographer has done a great job with this series of photos. The images are clear and sharp. If I had to buy one I'd probably choose the heavy brown one (4). But I'm afraid it wouldn't be a nice combination with my frontdoor. Anyway, Great album! Have a nice weekend, grusse, Tjebbe

Hello Kaethi and Heinz. Zu der Frage:Fantastisch sind die Copperplates - aber grosse Frage: nur virtuell, oder aber auf echtes Kupfer übertragen? Gewiss dumme Frage. Antwort: Nein absolut nicht ist nur meine fantasie arbeit. The album is already out from WS, I removed alot of albums and per 11 of october 2005 I am only a free Member, I got enough from accuses (stolen images) I am looking for a more serious Photosite as WS is. Dear Henri and Kaethi, This is an absolutely fascinating subject for an album and I had no idea there were so many kinds of door knockers. Are the hands something common to your region of France ? I have never seen any before but you have so many different types. I thought it a bit creepy to begin with seeing hands like that on the door it must feel odd to grab one and use it as a knocker LOL Thank you so much for your kind comments in my GB's recently, I'm glad you liked them. I have been trying to catch up with albums to view and sorting my pictures not enough hours in the day right now, I'm glad you enjoyed the first day of our Scotland holiday and Park Gate it is a wonderful nature reserve. Hi Kaethi, ja mein Album hat erneut ein 'new' Zeichen bekommen. Ich habe eine Weile herumgegruebelt warum und kam zu keinem Ergebnis. Dann fiel mir ein, dass ich einen Schreibfehler in den Album-Properties berichtigt hatte . . . . . ! Dieses Album dagegen ist brandneu(!) und wunderschoen. Wie schoen dass es irgendwo noch so wunderschoene Beschlaege gibt. Ich bin in einer Tischlerei aufgewachsen und mein Vater hatte immer eine Vorliebe fuer sowas. Spaeter hat er sich dann darauf verlegt alte Moebel fuer das Museum aufzukaufen und zu restaurieren. Mir hat es immer Spass gemacht ihm dabei zuzuschauen - und auch zur Hand zu gehen. Vor einigen Jahren habe ich dann dass Moebelstueck, das er nie fertiggestellt hatte, alleine restauriert. Mir scheint ich hab beim zuschauen auch noch was gelernt. Doch ich komme von Thema ab...! Dies Album hat mir ganz besonders viel Spass gemacht und die Erinnerung an meine Vater aufleben lassen. :-) Alles Liebe aus Israel - Galit

Hallo Heinz und Kaethi, ein sehr originelles Thema! Wunderschoene Bilder und so viele Variationen! Ich kann mich nicht entscheiden welche ich am schoensten finde. Ich mag die verschiedene Haende sehr, aber auch die stilisierte Hund ist sehr huebsch. Wie ihr die verschiedene Besonderheiten im Bilde bringt ist auch wundervoll. Vor allem mag ich diese wrought-iron Kunstgegenstaende sehr, wie ihr weisst. Es war mir eine grosse Freude diese Bilder anzusehen. Habt ihr ein schoenes Urlaub gehabt in Ariege? Hallo, liebe Kaethi und lieber Heinz! Das ist wirklich ein besonders huebsches und orginelles Album! Es gefaellt mir sehr, sehr gut!! Es gibt schon so tolle Einzigartigkeiten hier in dem schoenen Europa. Hier in Bayern/Salzburg sieht man nicht viele solcher stilvollen Tueklopfer, wenn sie ueberhaupt vorhanden sind. Hat mich erinnert and die Vielfalt der verschiedenen Türen und Tore auf Mallorca. Wie geht es euch beiden?? Habt ihr die heftigen Regenfaelle gut ueberstanden? Bonjour et merci pour vos commentaires pour les photos d'automne. Comme vous le mentionnez nous sommes en plein dans la saison des couleurs et il faut savoir profiter de chaque journee de beau temps car cela ne dure pas longtemps. Quelques jours de pluie et de vent comme en cette fin de semaine nous enleveras une bonne partie de ces couleurs dans nos paysages mais le Quebec est vaste et certaines regions ont etes epargnes comme les Laurentides et une partie de l'Outaouais que j'ai visite samedi, un aller-retour de pres de 1400 km pour voir quelques ponts couvert entre autre. Je placerai d'autres photos de ce voyage aujourd'hui et dans les jours qui viennent. Bienvenue a vous deux si vous desirez y jeter un coup d'oeil. A la prochaine! Michel
