  • What a fun album! Very colorful and a good variety. Love the african daisy, pansies, cone flowers and lillies. It's hard to wait for spring! Thanks for putting together an album for the rest of us to enjoy. Hope you will stop by and check out some of my galleries some time. All the Best, Jeff McGraw

  • Hi Barb, A real nice album of flowers, sure have lots of color and different kinds as well, do like the lupine. You asked a question on how I get a 'mystic' effect on '#21 and 26 in particular'- the first one I stuff the lens within the flowers so the edges appear to be flowing out of the framework. They are out of focus, but the point has been made, appears to have more flowers within this patch than just the focal point; the second is a bit different-wanted to grab the light from the sun reflecting off the inside of the lens. The lens is 8-sided within the lens. The lens will throw the light back at the subject, you won't see the reflecting light on the subject, but you'll see the reflecting light in your eyepiece. Use the sun to light up your subject, but turn you and your camera enough to catch just a bit of it. Takes a little practice, but bear in mind, please don't be looking directly into the sunlight, let the camera do the work here. You might have to experiment, but its exciting getting that one picture that's worth a thousand words to you. Hope this gives you some ideas. Best regards and greetings once more from the Oregon Coast. Ron

  • Hello Barb, Webshots is not behaving properly tonight. I had to try several times to get the large views and frequently got the message, "service temporarily unavailable" and I did not get large views of the 8th, 11th, 20th, 27th, and 28th pictures in the album. I like your flowers and your pictorial presentation. Overall your lighting and composition are good and make a pleasing album. The colors are great! I downloaded the 4th picture, "part of my garden on the river", as a background screen then got to the 21st picture, "so many daylilies" and liked it even more so downloaded it too. In picture 29, is that a yellow begonia with the pink heart in the background? For me, the pink heart is a distraction from the beauty of the yellow flower and I would prefer the pink heart removed from the picture. Between pictures 39 and 40 I prefer the lighter, brighter 40. You certainly should feel good about your photography, you are putting together some very nice pictures. Here's to even more success. Regards and God bless, Carl

  • Now about this album. Great photos! love you Lupines, mine are dying off, I really don't know much about them, how long have yours lived? We get pretty hot here. Today it will be in the 90's. Our weather may not be the best for Lupines, but I tried. Maybe there is a stronger type then my fragle small pink varity need to check and see. Your garden flowers are beautiful. Take care, Laura

  • Hello Barb, Thanks for visiting me again to answer your question about the Japanese Maple tree. It is realy called a dwarf and not a mini. Might get to five foot tall, but usually gets wider then tall. Mine is about four years old and only about four foot tall. It also come in red and green, so watch for that if you get one. Good luck. Laura
