Hello There. What a great album you have here. Love the daffies and azaleas, clamatis and bluebells. Looks like I found another flower lover. Thanks for the colorful flower show...makes me want to go out to the garden. All the Best, J.A.McGraw Hope you will drop by some time to check out some of my work too. >:)

P.P.S. Jayne, I have some new albums on bcharpen8 and bcharpen9. Hope you like them. I am hoping to someday get a macro lens (some people call them micro lenses) and be able to take gorgeous close-ups, too. Of course, I don't have a husband with such a stunning garden. Hope I have a good eye as you do! Nancy
said bcharpen
I should always look at the whole album first because I see a few that grab me, comment, and then when I go thru everything find so much more to say! I would love to know what #90 is called. I have flowers here like the royal candles (#81) but fatter than these so not sure if same flower. Have to look again. Love #60, tree peony; #54, aquilegia; #39, flower and seed clematis; the pixie hats; the red azaleas (#44); and #22 the grape hyacinth photos. Also enjoyed seeing both red and yellow ladybugs. Nancy

Jayne, Thank you for your message in my Huntington Gardens album. My son will be so pleased about the chives as he wants to grow an edible garden and I want beauty also. Your photos #76-78 show me we can have both with this plant and he will be happy to hear that. Your husband has a green thumb as my grandmother used to call it! Lovely setting, beautiful and healthy plants, and great job showcasing your photos of them all. Thank you both for sharing them with us. Nancy
said bcharpen
Wow these are so so pretty. Thanks for sharing. I just love all of the beautiful flowers. If you get a chance check out my albums. Greetings from California

Hi Jayne. Just a quick one to thank you for your message. I got back today and have over 600 photos to go through. God knows how I'm going to decide which ones to put in my album. I have set the album up but not put any photos in it as yet. I expect quite a few of them will look very similar as I can never bring myself to pick just one picture of the same view. Oh well. I did keep an eye out for post boxes for you but only saw the usual kind. Hope you are keeping well. Very cold isn't it. We had some snow first of all up there as you will see from the pictures which pleased me no end. Didn't much like the rain and fog which came along and stayed for the second half of the week though. Consequently I didn't get to half the places I wanted to, so will be returning as soon as I can I feel. Anyway, take care now. Love Chesca #####

Good afternoon from Sherwood,OR. My dear, sweet friend you DO NOT need any tips on how to get sharp, clear images in 'macro'! You already are an expert right outa-the-box!!! Absolutely wonderful photographs are what I am seeing in this album. You have shown again the talent and abilities that ONLY God could have given you! Thank you so much for now being a part of my life! May Our Heavenly Father continue to bless you and yours!!! Love, Terry(trbcowboy@msn.com)

Beautiful flowers, thanks for sharing! My favorites were the Grape Hyacinths & the Tulip :)

Hi Jayne ... I am back again to view your delightful albums. This time 'round I have to comment on "Angel in my Heart," and "The Bluest of Blues." They are both my 'kind' of periwinkle blue and such a lovely compositions! I like the yellow and black ladybirds but #79, "Chives" is a real prize! ... I hope you are having a good weekend and oh, you asked how I put the wording around my photos. It is easy in PaintShopPro 8, 9 or X (ten), which I now have. Add a border and rotate the photo giving you an 'upright' text area. ... Time now to put my feet up. ... Love, 'n hugs, Judy

Hi Jayne, I am slowly working my way through all the guest book entries from my August 29 feature. Thank you so much for your king comments! It is always a pleasure to have someone visit. Your macro album doesn't reveal your newness to macro photography. Your album here is done very well. I especially like the Lilac Azaleas. Gorgeous! Enjoy your day. Eti

Hi Jayne, Thank you for your GB entry I'll move onto your second album and help you name them after I have a look here. I think I like you alliums best the raindrops add to them. I am fairly new to Macro photgraphy too ever since I got a new camera in March. I think the best thing about my new camera is its amazing macro mode allowing me to get as close as 1cm but like Keith below says keeping absolutely still is the key. You can get mini tripods or even bean bags to sit your camera on which help or do what I do and take loads of images and pick the best. I don't know what camera you have but if you are able to alter your aperture settings thats can add to close up shots too. I still have lots to learn, but my album East Blean woods in summertime has some recent pictures I have taken when I really had luck with the butterflies and insects and they were all hand held and I am really pleased with. Take care now Jill
said jillbatchelor
Hello Jayne, it looks to me like you've got the hang of macros pretty well sewn up. Experience has taught me that a tripod is an invaluable pre-requisite, that or a rock steady hand. I'm still learning, but I've managed a few shots of which I'm proud. Take a look at the raindrops in my Winter in My Yard album. I had the camera on the ground to take these; without a solid base, they would never have happened. Many thanks for your entry in my Fun at The Fair guestbook, it was appreciated. Greetings from Sydney, Keith.

Hi Jayne, new to machro are you, well it hasn't taken you long to produce some good pictures. Don't want to teach you to ##### eggs but, I find a small tripod very helpful , it obviously does away with camera shake. unless the wind is blowing of course. Great pic's keep em coming, no School for a week or so. Ken

Hi Jayne, It looks to me like you have mastered the macro. Photo 35 is beautiful. All of your new additions are fantastic. How are you my dear friend? I just got back yesterday from my dad's. He made it through his procedure fine. The surgeon said that he does have blockage in all of his arteries to his heart, but it's only at about 40% and he said that that wasn't enough to put in stents. My sister and I stayed with him because they do go up through the groin and when they come back out they put in a collagen plug and he had to be very careful that the plug didn't pop out....no lifting or bending..etc. We had a good time staying with him and spoiling him for a few days. I took a few photos while I was there and will be putting them up on webshots some time today. I looked through webshots last evening for just a brief time and it looks like I have a lot to catch up on. I guess I better get started...lol. Take care and God bless. Love 'n' Hugs. Donna

Oh Jayne I do so love this album. Those bluebells just jump out of the screen at you the color is so vivid. I have some too but they aren't nearly as pretty as yours are... maybe it's because they are English Bluebells & they are blooming so very far away from their true home! Hugs...Kathryn

Hi Jayne, I wanted to let you know that my dad is having a heart procedure done tomorrow and I will be staying with him for a few days. I will be computerless for a few days, so I won't be able to visit your new albums and photos for a while. Keep clicking and I will check in when I get back home. Take care. God Bless. Love 'n' Hugs. said bvillanyi
Hi Jayne, I think you are doing a great job with your macro photography. I especially loved "Good Morning Sunshine"! It was great. I don't know about your camera but mine has a special setting for macro shots and I have an automatic focus so it takes all the guesswork out of it. But, before I got my new camera I always used a low f-stop (usually 2) to do macro shots. It always worked well. We have all summer to work on macro shots of flowers so have a great time! Connie from Ohio.

Hi Jayne ... Thank you so much for your dedicated Ladybird in this album; how wonderfully sweet you are. Unbeknownst to you, I've been in touch with a cousin of our son-in-law who lives in Barford, Warwickshire, which isn't far from where you are. We hope to get over the 'big pond' to see Gillingham and Shaftesbury in Dorset where my g-g-g-grandfather hailed from and also to Auchtermuchty, Scotland where my g-g-g-grandmother grew up. Our world has become so small. Keep 'shooting' your wonderful photos and sharing them with all of us. Hugs, Judy

The Lilac Azalea beautiful also. All downloaded perfectly.Thank You! My little Buddy Cockatiel is fine, but he/she has been doing something 'strange' lately that I cannot write here..do you have an email address? I'd enjoy seeing a photo of a wild Cockatiel, never seen one and wondering their actual colours. All mine have been hand raised babies. Have a wonderful week end. Barb/Chicago PS: All winter I kept a heating pad on top of Buddy's little house. :>

Hi dear Jayne, This album is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! I love those temple bells!!! This is going to be a wonderful year for flowers. It seemed like we had to wait forever...didn't it? At last they are popping out all over. Did you see Lynn's (lynncb7) photos of the wildflowers in the desert this year? WOW! I guess it's from all the rain they had over the winter. It's rare and beautiful. Well..I guess I better go get some laundry and house cleaning done. Thanks for a wonderful morning with my cup of coffee and your beautiful photos. Keep clicking!!! Hi Jayne, you have been very busy - while I was even too lazy to answer your nice comments in my 'Holiday' album! :-) Your Macros are very beautiful. I like the daffodils!!! :-) It looks as if you already know it all. I can use for Macros Auto focus or Manual focus. Most I use the manual focus. When I go closer than 2 cm I am focusing once and then change only the distance of the camera to the object. I find that easier. Yes, I still take Macros with a tripod. You have to try it out. When there is very much light it is not possible to see well at the LCD. THEN I use the Auto focus! Go on! You are doing fine! I think the most important thing is to SEE, not how to do it. You see everything!! Lol - Galit

Hello Jayne! Thanks for your nice words in my garden album - we have had nothing but rain for a few weeks and finally a few hours of sunshine this weekend so I made the most of it before all the spring flowers are gone. You're doing great work with your macros. The blue pansy is perfect! Have a great week. Hugs, Beth

Hi Jayne, My sick body is back from vacation and now I can look at your photos again. Your Macro's are beautiful! As no expert in Macros, I have learned that experimenting is the best way to improve and I still have to delete alot of them. I found that finding the correct distance is the problem for me. I have 2 macro settings, and have to look at both before taking the photo. Anyway, your flowers are beautiful, and I love this album. We won't have flowers until June. Love Sharon

B-U-Ti-FUL You really have a green thumb and great eye for photography. I can alost smell the Forsythia. Love from the frozen Cowboy State of Wyoming...Lorrie
said greenhorngrl
Hi Jayne, beautiful pictures, but I can't believe your azaleas are blooming already and at the same time as the Forsythia? Wow! How I miss spring! Reading tirza_h's entry leads me to believe that you're venturing into macro photography for the first time. Is this right? It can be very frustrating and very hard on the back, but it can also be extremely rewarding. Your flowers show that you're already enjoying some of the rewards. Great shot! and thanks for you recent kind words, Paul in Florida.
