    • I have just figured out on my own how to make concrete leaves, having been a sculptor in concrete for 4 years now. Most of my work is in cast cement in the form of dragons, trolls and other such fantastic creatures. I went to bed disappointed last night when I much too prematurely HAD to look at my rhubarb leaf and broke it......not the first time my impatience has led to such occurances. Found the site in my search this morning and looks like we might be neighbors. Thanks for the cool pics! My address is http://doddson.tripod.com/MiddleEarthStudios/index.htm

    • Dena, I've just toured your gardens and oogled over your benches, planters, leaves,walk-ways, am inspired to get out this afternoon and start creating for my own backyard. I've three large perennial beds that we just built last year, between family and friends have them almost full and can't wait to see them grow...have a few stepping stones of my childrens hand and foot prints , but after visiting your gardens and yard...the ideas are flowing...am going out now to cut into my lawn so I can pour cement in for a cobblestone like effect... I don't have the means to post pics. yet, but I hope I've shared with you some of the creativity and enthusiasm that your pics. gave me, Thanks....

    • Marty sent me over to visit....I am wild about the leaves you've done!....I saw a site from UK that sells them, done in fiberglass, as waterfall and bubbler parts....I want to try it with cement, like yours, but am concerned that they won't hold up to running water and winter....I would love to talk with you about your thoughts on this... if you would be so kind as to email me if you have time?....it's lindeskipper@hotmail.com and please put Gunnera in the subject line?....I will really appreciate learning from you what I need to know... can't get started till I get some ideas going... your site is a wonder of good ideas....and the alder chair looks like another project a-comin'!!! thanks for some good ideas, lady!!!

    • Hi, I started making hypertufa planters last year and intend to continue this summer. You & your family`s creativity is enlightening and motivating. I am interested in making hypertufa Japanese lanterns as well. Could you give me a brief synopsis without putting you through too mush trouble ? Thank you, Ken

    • Dena, I linked to your album from Gardenweb's junk forum. Thanks for posting all your wonderful art. I tried hypertufa once and it all crumbled apart, but your leaf castings have inspired me to try again.

    • Dena, love your hypertufa stuff!! I found your comments on another website and now can't find that website.(maybe it was your daughers?) I've been making hypertufa stuff for a while now. My next project is the lantern. Just curious how you did yours. The top of the one looks like an old salad bowl. What did you use for your middle. Probably had to carve the legs huh? I would like some tips if you don't mind. My e-mail is loislaney@webtv.net. Thanks for any help you can give me.~~~Lois

    • LOVED all your pix! I was at Gardenweb and looking thru a few posts when I came across your site. Decided to pop in for a visit and glad I did! Beautiful yard/deck/gardens & projects. (I'm originally from NJ and have often visited Beach Haven, too.) I've definitely got to get to work on the teacup birdfeeder- will make great Valentine's gift for my 2 nieces! Thanks for sharing all your great ideas!

    • Dena, beautiful. Love the lizard and eager to see it finished. Water vessals are so neat, wish I had one. (the small one)
