  • Hi Poppy, This has to be one of the best flower albums I have seen. I particularly like the extreme close-ups, the very soft illumination, the perspectives and the non-descript background (where there is one) which focuses the viewers’ attention right on the flower. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your very kind and generous words a couple of days ago on my Large Cats album.

  • What a spectacular Album!! You certainly made good use of your get well flowers. Where there is a will there is a way and if I were faced with not using my camera, I would be in withdrawals. Your images are stunning, I stopped for a quick peek and got hooked big time. I sure have enjoyed my visit with your exceptional flower captures. Hope you will soon be able to hold your camera and are well on the mend. Leslie

  • Hello Poppy, thank you for your wonderful messages in my new albums! I am happy you liked some of it. Those pink fallen down petals do not get slippery they dry out and you can keep them this way for some days. The red petals of the Royal Poinciana can get really messy and slippery. People living around those trees do not like them, they tell the petals leave their color irremovable on their cars and are not easy to clean up. Nevertheless: they are beautiful! I love your macros in this album! They are very clear and very colorful! A pleasure to look at them! - Take care! - Galit

  • Hmmm ... I've manage to lose the message you left in my guestbook! But to answer your question, I use a Canon 100mm USM macro lens. And yes, quite a challenge getting the right depth of field! I usually end up taking a ton of pics of the same flower. I've found that the ones I like best are those taken with a pretty shallow dof, with just a few petals in focus. When I 1st got the lens, one of the early pics I took was of a cappucino! The dof was sooo shallow (unintentionally!) that only bits of the froth was in focus properly! Cheers, Sharon

  • Hi Poppy! This is one of the intuitively creative album of macros I have seen. The angles are fabulous, the clarity impeccable and the colours vibrant. Nature creates marvels and all that we can do is try and do justice to it in our pictures. You have done so much to bring out the delicateness and the beauty of the flowers. Thanks for sharing such a sensitive album. Thank you, too, for the warm words of appreciation on the Ed's choice of my 'climbing rose' picture. Best wishes, Suresh
