WoW! I'm impressed with your photography and with the variety of flowers in your part of Texas. There are some that are common to both of our areas, but I see many in your album that I have not seen growing out here. I think you do get more rainfall than we, and things are generally 'greener' in your area. Wonderful photos of gorgeous and fascinating flowers, Art! Charlotte

Hello Art, and thanks for your GB entry re: my wildflowers identified by Prof. Wynn Anderson. I only stumbled across Dr. Anderson many years after I started identifying them through various resources on my own. Those he identified were mostly ones for which I could not find resources, and I was grateful for his assistance with them. I want to spend more time looking though your similar albums. I have another photographer friend who first lived in San Antonio, and then moved out to Rio Medina. I'm in El Paso within two miles of the New Mexico border; but I grew up in northern Virginia. So I had to begin learning native plants and flowers all over once I moved here. I'm especially interested in edible wild plants, but fascinated by all. This is only one of my many interests however, so I don't spend full time researching it. Anyway, perhaps we can use each other as resources in this mutual interest. You can reach me by email at chargerfree@mindspring.co m. Thanks again for your note. Charlotte

If the Baby Blue Eyes was your last entry in this album, it certainly does not look like it has suffered from lack of rain. The lack of moisture here is also cutting our blooming season short. Thanks for sharing again. Leese

I just watched your exquisite wildflower slideshow. My favorite flower is the scarlet flax which, to my great disappointment, is not in bloom here as it usually is this time of year. It was a wonderful surprise to find such a striking photo of a flower that often seems to be overlooked by photographers. Thanks very much.

Hi, Thanks for your nice comment in my guestbook. If you like hanging baskets, Great Britain is THE place to go on holidays. In Austria the balconies are abundant with flowers (they had to water them this hot summer 3x a day). It kept some women busy for hours. I love my Canon S30 (nice colours). When I use the zoom (3xoptical, 7xdigital) I ALWAYS use a tripod.... The sunflowers were done with the zoom in its maximum and in the camera function 'Macro" Im not a technical expert; I always do everything n the automatic function. The Canon is the real technical expert....
