  • Hi Natheli, Cathy C from Legacy here. Just wanted to say how wonderful to have such a lovely heirloom from your Great Grandmother. Looks like she took good care of it. It will make a nice display piece in your stitching nitche at home. I don't have anything like that from my Grandmothers, but wish that I had. You are very fortunate to have had someone think to save it over these years. Another thought, that is sucha pretty case, it would be nice to recreate your own version of a sewing box like that. I was jus tthinking that could be your first 'printed design"... ever thought about that? I think it would be a great piece to redesign, and create your own accessories for it as well. Sell it as a kit... When i first looked at it, that's exactly what I thought. What a marvelous project that would be if you had all the pieces to stitch and assemble yourself, then add your own tools or get some made with your initials <g>. That would be marvelous! OH, I could get excited about that kind of stitching project. It would be easy enough to create the case with the mat board inserts, then stitch some pockets, and on the sides add some needlebooks to slide under those bands....Where the spools of thread are, put in a pincushion instead. And in the spot where you have the thread winders, those could be the ones you order special with your initial on them. The other tools at the top, the stitch puller, and neeldecase, and awl, those could easily be any tool the stitcher wants to add there. Well, I could dream about thsi all day...can you tell that I love stitching accessories like this, especially ones you can personalize. I also thought it might be nice to have an outer pocket to slip in a notebook that you could use for putting information on your stitching projects and gifts you make for others, etc. A nice way to create a history of fyour work. Well, I'll close with that...thanks for sharing your pictures. Cccathy C
