Hi Barbara. I see you have been working hard lately!!! Your photos are getting better!! My favourite is "I Am Grand. (the bloom, not me!!)". Still, flowers taken late in the evening using flash will never give you a peek at their beauty as what they will do in daytime (no flash). In fact flash is "forbidden&q uot; when shooting flowers. I never use flash for objects close by. It will make the object overlighted and it the photo will look "flat". Going back to your last specific question to me... Yes I do use a photoprogram (Photoshop) but so far never went as far as to make the background blurr (lots of work!!). It has to do with distance and zooming in. If you take an object from some distance EVERYTHING can and will be sharp if you do everything properly. If you go close to the flower (and use your macro button if you have one) and the flower is razor sharp, the background will be blurred automatically. About zooming in too close.... The only way to get TOO close is that the camera cannot phocus properly and the object will become blurred. I see you have more guestbook entries now. The only way to get people to see your work is to write to them first. Most of them will come to visit your photos and will write something in your guestbook. Start checking the new albums coming out everyday; write in the guestbooks of the people whose photos you like. For flowers go to the new one to : community -> flowers -> Views per day. Hi Chara.. Sorry about the Hi John sentence. This is how it works. I got so many guestbook entrees on my Keukenhof reloaded, so I make one part which I write to every visitor. But the starting will be personal for every body; looking at the albums etc. Sometimes I change the message for all and make a new copy... this time I included the Hi John sententence. hi barb! Great flower album! Nice angles and compositions! I see are not really in love with your Nikon; you even spell its name incorrectly... (you bought the 8700.. not the non existent 7000) I also have some quarrels sometimes with my Nikon...
